Step 5: EFFECTIVE EXERCISE

The lesson here is simple --

'No matter what exercise you do, improve what you are doing every time you exercise.' 


When Mickey came to us, he had already been walking a few times a week and climbing the occasional tree.  He started training with us 2 times a week to really set things in motion.  

By doing this, we started him on a weight/ interval training program.  Every time he trained, the goal was that he would increase the amount of weight or repetitions he lifted.

This rule holds true whether you are just:

  • starting out or
  • a seasoned professional. 
***If you are doing the same workout over and over again and not getting results, there is a reason!... No matter what your fitness goal, you need to be improving all the time.

If you are not consistently improving it could be caused by
one of several things...

  • poor technique
  • toxicity
  • hormone balance
  • nutritional deficiency

If you are…

  • only just starting out with exercise and you want to walk, go for it!  Just make sure that you try and walk farther in the same amount of time or beat your time every time you walk.
  • already lifting weights or doing interval training, do what Mickey did and make sure that you are increasing either the weight, reps or speed every time you train.  
  • only doing cardio workouts, and you want fat loss results… make sure you include interval training otherwise, you will likely find that you will plateau quickly or not get results at all.
